OPS Christmas Brunch

Saturday morning we had our annual outpatient surgery Christmas Brunch at Sara Mayo's house. We did our dirty santa ornament exchange. Thanks Barbie my ornament looks great on my tree. What fun!!!!

Micah Gets Baptized--Praise the Lord!!!

I do not have words to express my feelings about what happened on our lives on Sunday. Micah accepted Christ a few weeks ago at home and made his profession public a couple of weeks ago at church. Sunday he was baptized by Pastor Andy Rittenhouse. He is the missions pastor at our chruch and was Micah's football coach this past year. Micah is now my brother in Christ...we will be sharing eternity together...Praise the Lord even in the storms.

Table for Christmas Memories

A couple of Saturdays my church hosted a women's conference called Christmas Memories for the frazzles female..here are some pics of the table Diana and I decorated. As you can see there are no pics of people sorry...but I was very proud of the table.

The centerpiece is fresh magnolia, silk poinsetias, gold ribbon, and floating candles.

March of Dimes Chef Auction

November 9th we got to get all gussied up and attend the March of Dimes Chef Auction. Jonathan is on the board. This is the 3rd time we have attended...the food is soooo good!!

Micah's 8th Birthday at Mr. Gatti's

Saturday night we were finally able to celebrate Micah's 8th birthday with his friends. (yes I know his birthday was oct. 19th). He chose Mr. Gatti's for this celebration. He had a great time with friends and family.

Emily's Preschool Halloween Parade

Last thursday Emily's preshool had a halloween party. This is her 3yr old class with one her teachers, Ms. Jessica.

Williamsburg Vacation at a glance....

During fall break our family made the 9hr trip to Virginia to visit Williamsburg and all the history it has to offer. Although it was pretty cold for the entire week (one day it did reach 68) we had a great time. I think that Jonathan and I were way more into the history and the boys thought all the war stuff and cannons were pretty cool. I know there are several pictures to scroll through but we visited so many cool places that I could not leave them out....we visited Yorktown, Jamestown, and Colonial Williamsburg. On sunday was Micah's 8th birthday. We visited Yorktown on his birthday. It was victory day...which is the celebration of the victory at the Battle of Yorktown on October 19, 1781...almost cinching our victory over the British in the Revolution. There was a parade and a huge celebration...it was very, very cold that day.

Colonial Williamsburg

The govenor's palace in C.W. This is where the govenor (british rule) lived when williamsburg was part of the colony of virgina.

They had horse drawn carriages all over williamsburg.

Jamestown Settlement

A recreation of what like was like in early 1600's in Jamestown.

The next few pictures are the family members trying on the armor that the settlers in Jamestown would have worn to protect themselves.

This is replication of a hand carved boat they would have used...they used the burn and scrape method.

Historic Jamestown

This is the original spot on James Island where the first colonists arrived in 1607. Below there are doing a real archeological dig to uncover a basement they believe dates back to the early 1600's. This was my favorite place because of all the amazing history..their were volunteer guides that were a wealth of knowledge about the area.

The tower part of the church is orginal to the early 1600's and was the first churh built in Jamestown. The building attached was built on the original foundation as what a church in this time period would have looked like. It was amazing to me how 400 yrs ago the brick laying was so impressive..not much had really improved in this area in all this time.
